This year my writing hasn't been going so great. I just don't have time to get everything done and I just fell worn out after work. I think the constant late nights are getting to me.
That said I am trying again with my attempt at MinNoWriMo this year, which should be interesting, I hope. Details are under the cut.
It's called 'The Troubadour and the Nightingale ' and basically it's how Ghislain and Eve got together and why they are so passionately in love with one another in 'The Poisoned Veil'. Here's a short blurb.
When Ghislain Bouchard sees a beautiful young widow moves in to the apartment opposite his, he is drawn to her golden beauty, her sadness and inner strength. He is intrigued as their paths start to cross and as they slowly get to know one another and learn to trust, he falls head over heels in love.
When Nicolas dies at the hands of a vengeful vampire, Eve Ravensbourne decides it's time she made some far reaching changes and moves to Paris to start a new life with her two girls. She moves into the Artist's Quarters and restarts her musical career to earn a living. When she meets Ghislain, she start to fall for the handsome young lawyer and his glorious voice especially when she starts to work with him on Lully's 'Orphee et Euridice'. But can she ever let him get close to her when she is still trying to come to terms with the scars of her past? And will she ever be able to reveal her heart when her whole existence depends on her keeping firmly off the radar?
So far progress is a bit slow. I've only done just under 1,500 words, but hopefully, if I keep at it things will get better. I just have to make sure I write every day without fail and stick to my target of 2,500 words a day. I have some holiday time so I can try and make up any shortfall then. I'm also novelling (is that even a proper word?) outdoor, as it's
less likely that I will be distracted by crap at home.
I also watched 'Stalingrad' yesterday as part of my mini quest to check out as many Thomas Kretschmann films as I can. What an amazing film!
I special ordered it from HMV.com and it was immensely cheap. Basically it was all about a company of German soldiers during the battle of Stalingrad during World War II. So sad. It's not often I cry about a film, but this one was incredibly moving.
I really want to see Immortal (ad vitam) next if I can. Looks very interesting and of course he is absolutely gorgeous in it as well.
Just while I'm here I may as well mention my latest icon which is from 'La Reine Margot'. Tom K isn't in it that much and he's a bit of a murdering git but he's so gorgeous. Like a cold yet beautiful angel.
/shallow fangirl moment (honestly!)
